We’re set to go live to chat about firefighter recruitment – you won’t want to miss our upcoming Facebook Q&A event!
On Thursday 25th June you can put your questions to our panel of those familiar with the recruitment process ahead of the opening of the application window.
From 7pm on the 25th, tune into our Facebook page (@HampshireIOWFireService) to meet our team made up of firefighters with a recent experience of the recruitment pathway, knowledge of the initial training programme or with an insight into what you can expect in the upcoming application process.
The panel will be able to go into detail as to the depth of the role, highlighting how it is a role for everyone regardless of your gender or background.
You will have the opportunity to submit your questions in the comments section, whether it’s related to the application stage, fitness test, or interview.
Our panel are keen to showcase to you the numerous avenues a firefighting career can take you down, perhaps into specialisms or senior positions.
Larry Mackrell, Group Manager for Workforce Planning and Improvement, said:
“We are committed to ensuring potential applicants have all the information and support they need ahead of our wholetime firefighter recruitment window opening.
“Following our station open days, this is another excellent opportunity for anyone interested in the role, to find out more and have their questions answered.
“The panel will be able to advise you on how you can best prepare for what the recruitment process involves, and what a subsequent career as a firefighter entails.”
We still have a couple of station recruitment open days coming up:
