|26/05/2018 16:42||Residents rehoused after fire destroys Andover property||A number of residents have been rehoused following a property fire in Pilgrims Way, Andover yesterday afternoon.
Firefighters were called at 16:42 to a blaze initially affecting the garden of one of the properties which had quickly spread to an end-of-terrace house.
Crews from Andover, Eastleigh, Overton, Basingstoke, Alresford, Romsey and Service Headquarters were called to attend the seven-pump incident.

|25/05/2018 13:51||Ship fire in Southampton tackled by Hampshire firefighters||Crews from across Hampshire have been called to tackle a blaze onboard a ship at the docks in Southampton.
At 13:51 firefighters were alerted to the fire involving 7000 tonnes of scrap metal which had caused a large smoke plume above the ship in the dry dock.
Working alongside partner agencies such as the Environment Agency, Public Health England, Southampton City Council and the Coastguard, the crews have also been assisted by the Port agencies to remove scrap metal from the ship.
|21/05/2018 12:33||Blaze sweeps through Bitterne gardens||A large fire in the open has destroyed sheds, fences and scrub.
The blaze broke out at 12:33 in Hillside Avenue, Bitterne Park, and caused a huge smoke plume.
Three engines from St Mary's and Hightown attended with a specialist vehicle from Eastleigh.
Four jets, two hose reels and two sets of breathing apparatus were used.

|13/05/2018 19:13||Two men in hospital after severe van fire||Two men were taken to hospital with severe burns following a van fire in Hamble.
The vehicle was reported on fire on Westfield Common just before 7.15pm.
Crews from Hamble, Hightown and St Mary’s used breathing apparatus and hoses to extinguish the flames.
The two men, believed to be in their 20s, were taken to hospital by road and air ambulance.
The van was severely damaged by the fire and one car also damaged by the heat of the flames.

|29/04/2018 16:57||Cats rescued and 11 people led to safety in Bitterne flat fire||Several cats were saved and 11 people led to safety after fire broke out in a ground-floor flat in Bitterne.
The people living in the four-storey block were led to safety by crews after smoke had filled the stairwell.
The resident of the affected flat, a 71-year-old woman, was taken to hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation but was not seriously injured.
Three other people were treated for smoke inhalation at the scene.

|28/04/2018 11:47||Woman suffers burn after plastic left on cooker||A 63-year-old woman was treated for a burn to her hand after plastic was left on top of a cooker hob.
Two crews from Eastleigh attended the 999 call reporting a fire in the kitchen of the North Baddesley flat.
The fire was already out by the time the crews had arrived but they provided first aid for the woman’s burn and thankfully she did not need hospital treatment.
|23/04/2018 13:12||Man treated following Chandler's Ford flat fire||A man was treated for smoke inhalation after fire broke out on the first floor of a block of flats in Chandler's Ford.
The man escaped the building on Bodycoats Road before firefighters arrived and was thankfully he was not seriously injured.
The fire started in the lounge of a flat on the first floor and crews from Eastleigh, Service Headquarters and St Mary's used hose reels and jets to extinguish the flames.

|20/04/2018 15:29||Snake called Anna Cornder captured in Portsmouth loft||An escaped 5ft corn snake has been captured by an HFRS animal rescue expert.
The pet reptile is 11 years old and was trapped in a fascia board in a house in Alver Road, Fratton, Portsmouth.
It was released from this by HFRS and captured in the roof space.
The snake was unharmed, checked by the RSPCA and then retuned to its owner.

|20/04/2018 05:58||Large horse rescued from Alresford well||Firefighters were called out to rescue an Irish Draught gelding from a well.
Crews from Alresford, Overton and Winchester attended the incident in which the large male horse had got its hind legs trapped.
Crews used small tools, animal rescue equipment and a Manitou telehandler.
The horse was 20 years old and measured 16.3 hands (1.65 metres).
The incident was at Riverside Farm Lane, Tichborne, Alresford.

|05/04/2018 17:49||Firefighter administers jam sandwiches||An on-call firefighter administered jam sandwiches to a diabetic having a 'hypo'.
The co-responder from Alresford helped monitor the pensioner's condition and worked with our colleagues from South Central Ambulance Service (SCAS).
The incident took place in Itchen Stoke.
