Description of Incident
A crew from Redbridge and a support vehicle attended a water rescue in Rownhams, Southampton.
Four boys aged 12, 11, 11 and nine were helped from a 20ft by 15ft island in the middle of a 50ft wide pond next to Fairway Gardens.
The boys had been paddling around the island in an inflatable dinghy when it sprung a puncture and started to sink. The boys realised they were nearer the island than the edge of the pond so headed for this location. They then contacted the fire service and gave them their location. They were rescued using an inflatable sled and throw lines. They were pulled across to safety in pairs. The stop message was at 19:10.
