Woman dies in Fareham flat fire

A 56-year-old woman has died following a fire in Fareham.Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service were called to a flat fire at Minden House on Redlands Lane ?at 00:04 this morning (January 11).Two Fareham crews alongside Cosham and Portchester crews attended the incident in a ground floor flat of the three-storey building. The firefighters used four sets of breathing apparatus, two hose reels and tactical ventilation to extinguish the fire. The stop message was received ?at 01:37.The female was brought out of the property by fire crews who then administered emergency first aid before being taken on to hospital by South Central Ambulance Service.A fire investigation will now take place to establish the cause.A working smoke alarm in the property alerted a passer-by to the blaze, who then dialled 999.For more information on fire safety in your home please visit ?https://www.hantsfire.gov.uk/keeping-safe/.
