Thirty-five firefighters tackle blaze in Aldershot

Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service received a call at 15:23 regarding an incident in High Street, Aldershot. Six appliances attended carrying crews from Rushmoor, Basingstoke and Fleet. A cross border response was co-ordinated with Surrey Fire and Rescue Service. The fire involved the ground and first floor of an un-used commercial property. No casualties were reported at the scene. Thirty-five firefighters used eighteen breathing apparatus, three jets, two hose reels, one thermal imaging camera and an aerial ladder platform to tackle the blaze. Hampshire Constabulary guarded the scene overnight. Fire Investigation Officers will be attending to look into the cause of the fire.
