Smoke alarm and vigilant neighbour save dog’s life in Havant fire
A dog has been saved after a neighbour heard a smoke alarm and called 999.The blaze had broken out after the occupant had left the hob on, with a saucepan and plastic colander on top, and gone outA neighbour heard the alarm and looked through the letterbox and saw smoke and heard the dog barking.We were called at 12;21 and two crews from Havant and Cosham attended. The dog is thought to be a cross breed spaniel.Firefighters gained entry and rescued the dog.They used one hose reel jet and tactical ventilation to tackle the fire.The stop message was at 12:39.
