Scrap yard fire – Farlington

Five pumps from Cosham (two), Havant (two) and Portchester (one) were called to a scrap metal yard on Marshlands Road, Farlington today after reports of a fire.On arrival crews tackled a fire involving scrap metal and machinery covering an area of around five meters by 20 meters, which is believed to have started due to overheating machinery.Crews used three jets, one ground monitor and twelve sets of breathing apparatus to extinguish the fire.No one was hurt, and the stop message was put back by crews at 16:58.
