Retail fire – Totton

Crews were called this morning (Sunday 04 September) to reports of smoke escaping from the door at Creative Comforts and Aquatic Centre on Ringwood Road, Totton.One pump from Redbridge, two from St Mary?s and one from Eastleigh attended the scene. On arrival a fire in the rear pump room was extinguished using two breathing apparatus, two jets and two hose reels.Due to the professionalism and quick actions of our crews they were able to save all the shops animals which consisted of: 14 budgies, 10 hamsters, three rabbits, 12 gerbils, five snakes, one bearded dragon, one chameleon, spiders and insects along with marine, topical and freshwater fish.The stop message was received at 11:04 and no injuries were reported in the fire.
