Residential fire – Aldershot
Three crews from Rushmoor have attended a severe house fire.The fire started in the kitchen where food had been left unattended.The house was damaged by fire and smoke.Firefighters attending the scene said the family would probably have been killed were it not for the smoke alarm in the property at Woodland Walk.The family dog died in the blaze despite firefighters attempts to revive it.Six breathing apparatus were used along with three hose reels, two jets and ventilation techniques.Firefighters praised the actions of a neighbour who raised the alarm and turned off the gas supply from outside the premises.The two adults and two young children were taken to hospital suffering from slight smoke inhalation and for checks.They were outside of the property when fire crews arrived.
