Man suffers burns in Baughurst caravan fire

A man suffered facial burns after a caravan caught light on a Baughurst street. Crews were sent to Fair Oak Way after several calls received by the Control room, reporting a large plume of black smoke. Around 20 firefighters from Basingstoke, Rushmoor and Tadley arrived to find the fire had spread to two nearby houses. They used jets and hoses to prevent any severe damage to the properties, but the caravan was destroyed by the fire. Three sheds were also damaged by the fire.The man suffered burns to his forehead and also smoke inhalation, and was taken to hospital by South Central Ambulance Service. The stop message was received at 17.33.
