Island firefighters rescue man stuck in mud

Ryde and Newport firefighters worked alongside other emergency service partners after a man got stuck in the mud near Priory Road in Seaview yesterday evening.

Once crews had arrived, shortly before 6pm, they made contact with the casualty who was stuck in mud up to his waist.

Firefighters deployed specialist mud equipment to reach and rescue the casualty who was handed into the care of paramedics.
