Industrial fire – Andover

Three pumps from Andover (two) and Whitchurch (one) attended a fire in an industrial unit in Faraday Park, Andover this afernoon (Monday 20 March 2017).On arrival crews discovered a fire on the first floor of the unit, in an area used to charge batteries. It is thought the fire originated in one of the battery charging units. It was tackled using two sets of breathing apparatus and one hose reel, alongside positive pressure ventilation fans.One male casualty was taken to hospital by the ambulance service for smoke inhalation. The stop message was received at 17:43.
