House fire – Romsey
Crews have tackled a terrace house fire on Winchester Road, Romsey. The call came in at 10.48 as a persons reported. Two males left the property and were handed to South Central Ambulance Service and treated for smoke inhalation.The neighbouring properties either side were evacuated and a small amount of damage to their roof space and timber has been caused but other than that the fire has been contained to one property.The fire has been tackled by 10 pumps from Romsey, Eastleigh, St Mary?s, Redbridge, Eastleigh HQ, Southsea, Fareham and Lymington, also including the aerial ladder platform from St Mary?s station.Six breathing apparatus were used to tackle the fire, four jets and two hose reels. The gas and electric supply to the terrace row has been isolated safely and any damage to the supply is yet to be established. We?ve been working with Hampshire County Council?s emergency planning team to rehouse the occupant?s affects by this incident. We?ve worked closely with Hampshire Police who closed Winchester Road and have been controlling traffic in the surrounding area. The cause of the fire is still to be investigated. The stop came in at 20.21.
