Historic cottages devastated by fire near Andover

Fire has devastated two period cottages in a picturesque Hampshire village. The fire started in the thatched roof of the adjoining properties and spread to the two floors. Thankfully no-one was injured in the incident. At its height, more than 70 firefighters from Hampshire, Dorset and Wiltshire were needed to tackle the blaze. However, the work of the crews prevented the flames spreading to another neighbouring property. A fire investigation will now take place to establish the cause of the fire.
