Firefighters rescue man from Southampton house blaze
Firefighters have rescued a man, aged 64, from a house fire in Thornhill.Four crews from Hightown and St Mary’s attended the blaze in Shelley Road at 01.38 this morning.An aerial ladder platform was also in attendance as well as a command support vehicle from Eastleigh.The two-storey building was severely damaged in the fire that started on the ground floor.Firefighters used six sets of breathing apparatus, a hose reel, two main jets and tactical ventilation.The man rescued suffered from smoke inhalation and was treated by South Central Ambulance Service (SCAS).The stop message was at 04:07.
