Fire – Southampton

We recieved more than 20 999 calls to a large fire at an industrial site off Empress Road in Southampton. The fire spread across four commercial units, used mainly as car workshops, and at its height more than 60 firefighters were needed to tackle the incident. All four units have been severely damaged by the fire and crews will remain on the scene throughout the night damping down and ensuring there is no reignition. No-one was injured during the incident and fire investigators will return to the scene tomorrow to establish what caused the fire.
