Fire – Southampton
Crews from Hightown, St Mary’s and Redbridge were called to Carnival House after the building’s smoke alarm was activated. Firefighters in breathing apparatus went into the building to investigate and found heavy smoke logging on the fifth floor. They discovered the cause to be a smouldering bucket of rags discarded by workmen. The bucket was removed and the smoke cleared using fans. No-one was in the building at the time and no-one injured. The stop message was recieved at 00.13.
