Fire residential – Southampton
Three crews from St Mary’s and Redbridge were called to a house fire in Cedar Road. The team rescued a pet ‘tarantula’ and used two sets of breathing apparatus, jets and ventilation techniques. The fire was in a first floor bedroom of a terraced property and a neighbour raised the alarm after smelling smoke. The fire is believed to have been caused by the heat pad in the arachnid’s tank. A section on bottom of the tank had melted. After being removed by HFRS the pale grey spider was taken by the RSPCA who plan on temporarily placing it with a vet. Stop message was 23.20.
