Fire – Portsmouth

We were called reports of a fire at the fish and chip shop on The Hard. Though the initial call suggested a person was inside, everyone was accounted for shortly after the first crews arrived. The fire spread through ducting to the first and second floors of the building, used as flats. Crews had to to cut away at the structure to extinguish the fire. At the height of the incident, around 40 firefighters tackled the fire. The stop message was recieved just before 22.45 and an investigation into the cause will take place tomorrow (April 24).
