Fire – M3 Fleet Services

We were called on the night of Wednesday 14 December to a severe fire in the restaurant area of the Fleet services on the southbound carriageway of the M3. More than 100 firefighters from Hampshire and Surrey fought to stop the fire spreading through the building.No-one was injured in the incident, but around 60% of the building was damaged by fire, with the remainder being affected by smoke. Crews used six jets, four hose reels and 30 sets of breathing apparatus to tackle the blaze.The stop message was received at 14:05, however crews continue damping down and turning over on scene to eliminate any chance of re-ignition.An investigation is being carried out to establish the cause of the fire.
