Fire crews rescue two cats in Portswood kitchen fire
Three crews from St Mary’s and Hightown attended a flat fire in which the kitchen was destroyed.Other parts of the home were badly damaged by smoke.The fire broke out in Portswood Road, Portswood.Two cats were rescued by crews and given oxygen before being handed on to vets.Firefighters used four sets of breathing apparatus, a hose reel, a jet, an ultra high pressure lance and tactical ventilation to tackle the blaze.The stop message was at 11:22.
