Fire – Copythorne, near Cadnam

Our Control room recieved a number of calls to a large fire in the open near Copythorne, just north of Cadnam. Around 25 firefighters used hoses, beaters and knapsack tanks to tackle the fire. An area of one hectare of scrubland was left badly damaged by the fire, as well as several wooden telephone pylons. The electricity board were called to assess the pylons. The fire was dealt with by 17.24 and the cause is now under investigation.
