Easter Sunday gorseland fire at Yateley Common
On Easter Sunday, a large fire broke out on Yateley Common in Camberley, which was attended by firefighters from Rushmoor, Hartley Wintney, and Surrey Fire and Rescue Service.
The fire covered an area of five hectares of gorse land, which is approximately equivalent to seven football pitches.
Further support vehicles from Fleet, Andover, and Eastleigh also joined the crews who were called shortly before 5:30 pm.
The crews quickly managed to surround the fire and had it under control within two hours of arriving at the scene.
During the operation, six hose reels were used, and the stop message came in at 7:38 pm.
Police were informed as it is believed the fire had been started deliberately.
