Domestic fire – Southampton

Three pumps (two from Hightown and one from St Marys) were called to a motorbike on fire outside a semi-detached house on Harefield, Southampton this morning (Tuesday 22 November 2016).The fire spread from the motorbike to the front of the property, before being extinguished by crews using a two hose reels and one jet. Firefighters also used four sets of breathing apparatus and positive pressure ventilation fans.No-one was injured in the fire, and the stop message was received at 05:42. A fire investigation will take place to determine the cause.Access to the house was restricted by parking on both sides of the narrow road, meaning that crews had to run hose 100m from their pump to the fire, prompting reminders to car drivers to leave enough room for emergency service vehicles when parking.
