Commercial fire – Southampton

Crews were called to Shirley Road in Southampton this afternoon (Tuesday 10 January) after reports of a fire in a commercial premises.The three pumps from Redbridge and St Marys (two) discovered a small fire involving a portable generator in the ground floor shop. It was tackled using two hose reels, two jets and two sets of breathing apparatus alongside positive pressure ventilation fans to clear the smoke. Crews also removed and cooled a propane cylinder and a butane cylinder from the property.No one was injured in the fire, and the stop message was received at 17:42.
