Commercial fire – Portsmouth
Ten fire engines and an aerial ladder platform were called to Albert Road in Southsea, Portsmouth this morning (Wednesday 21 December 2016) to a fire in a dry cleaners.The ground floor of the mid-terrace property was destroyed by fire, with limited damage to the first floor flat and roof of the building. Crews used six jets, two hose reels and 46 breathing apparatus to tackle the blaze and prevented it from affecting neighbouring shops and flats.No one was thought to be in the building at the time of the fire and there are no reports of any casualties. The stop message was received at 09:36.A fire investigation will take place into the cause of the blaze over the coming days.
