Basingstoke firefighters tackle workshop fire which spread to adjoining properties
A workshop fire at the back of a property on Pyotts Hill in Basingstoke spread to the roof of two semi-detached houses just before 9AM this morning (16 Jan).Crews from Basingstoke, Odiham, Rushmoor, Tadley and Overton were called to the scene where they utilised the aerial ladder platform to access the roof which was well alight.Firefighters salvaged possessions from inside the houses where fortunately no persons or animals were involved.Eight sets of breathing apparatus, three jets, two hose reel jets and Compressed Air Foam System were used to stop the blaze.The Fire Investigation team will be on the scene later today to establish a cause.The stop message came in at 11:10 when the incident was scaled down to the remaining firefighters who continue to dampen down.
