Barn fire engulfs 1000 hay bales in Fareham
Firefighters from across the county were called to a barn fire at a farm in Fareham last night (17 Jan).Approximately 1000 bales of hay were destroyed in the blaze which started just after 8pm at the farm on Spurlings Road.Crews from Fareham, Wickham and Cosham were called to the scene along with specialist vehicles such including two Water Carriers. Relief crews from Droxford, Havant and Southsea took over the incident at various points throughout the night as firefighters maintained a watching brief allowing the fire to burn out. Three jets and one hose reel were used to prevent fire spread before the incident was handed back over to the owner. Firefighters left the scene following the stop message which came in just before 9am.
