Alpacas raise the a-llama to nearby blaze on Hayling Island

On-call firefighters from Hayling Island gained some new fans yesterday after extinguishing a small farm fire on West Lane.

Shortly after 5pm yesterday, a caller reported the fire into the HIWFRS Control Room, raising the a-llama!

The planned burn had grown out of control after a change in wind direction, with firefighters on hand to extinguish the blaze with a hose reel jet.

Following the incident the crew took the time to meet their new furry fans and pose for a photo!
