A terrace of four thatched properties involved in Sutton Scotney blaze
Multiple crews from across the county were called to a terrace of four thatched cottages with the roof well alight, on Stockbridge Road in Sutton Scotney.On arrival crews found there was very heavy smoke coming from the roof. Firefighters engaged in a salvage operation as well as fighting the fire in the two-storey building. Partners from SCAS were in attendance, fortunately there were no casualties involved. Relief crews attended later into the incident, taking over from firefighters first on the scene.The incident was scaled back to only four appliances before the stop message came in. Four jets, ten sets of breathing apparatus, and three hose reels were used. The stop message came in at 21:17, stating the roof of all four properties were 100% damaged by fire and first floor 50% damaged.
