The welcome accolade was received during the annual self-assessment and quality improvement meeting with the team’s largest funder, Eastleigh College.
Despite facing many obstacles due to changing Covid-19 restrictions, the team managed to rise to the challenge to carry out a combination of virtual and Covid-secure (when restrictions allowed) in person course delivery.
The Prince’s Trust Manager, Team Leaders and Assistant Team Leaders worked incredibly hard to ensure the quality of the programme and the support for the young people taking part in the programmes was never compromised and remained at the highest level.
HIWFRS Manager for Children and Young People (CYP) Karen Farr said:
“I’m incredibly proud of how the team reached further to deliver the programme despite changing restrictions, and the ‘outstanding’ grading is testimony to all their hard work and dedication. I’d also like to thank the other teams and individuals within the service, the National Prince’s Trust team and local office, as well as Hampshire Learns for their continued support of the HIWFRS PT Programme.”
The free 12-week HIWFRS Prince’s Trust course is targeted at 16-25-year-olds who are unemployed or not in education or training. The programme offers young people the chance to learn new skills and build confidence through team challenges, work experience placement, and community projects, so they become better prepared for the world of work.
HIWFRS also plan to launch Prince’s Trust Teams on the Isle of Wight from 2022.
