How to contact usWhy did you join Fire Cadets?
My brother used to go and I felt I was missing out so I gave it a go and loved it.
What do you do at Fire Cadets?
Lots and lots, ladder drills, hose reel and breathing apparatus drills. Some of the equipment is just for us because it needs to be slightly smaller but where possible we use the real station equipment. It’s exciting to be using the stations fire engine in training then hear the bells go down and the crew take the fire engine out we were just practising with.
Why did you join Fire Cadets?
I came along for a trial evening, really enjoyed it and have come every week since.
What skills have you learnt?
I’ve developed my ability to work as a team, improved my communications skills and I’ve got so much fitter and healthier because of the drills and activities.
What is your Fire Cadets highlight so far?
I felt so proud to represent Fire Cadets at Ellingham Show in my uniform. I felt I was really helping my community and showing Fire Cadets off in a positive way.
