Online formsRoss’s background before he joined the fire service was in hospitality, starting as a bartender and working his way up to general manager. As a retained Firefighter and this means that he was able to provide fire cover when he is available based on work commitments. During COVID-19 pandemic, he worked as a vaccinator at Basingstoke Fire Station where he had the pleasure of giving local celebrity Alan Titchmarsh his first vaccination! This had a personal significance to Ross as he was his late Granddad’s favourite television presenter.
I joined the fire service to make a difference and help the people of my community; as a young boy I always wanted to be firefighter. I wanted a job that gave me satisfaction and made me feel like I am doing something worthwhile. Being in the fire service makes me feels good about myself, I enjoy working as part of a team and have made lifelong friends. I love it more every day, the buzz of a fire shout will never grow old, even if I do!!
