Online formsVictoria (Tor) joined as a firefighter in 2008, being (at the time) the only girl on her training course. She is proud to have worked at all three of the Portsmouth fire stations, which included a brief stint at Copnor before it closed. Tor has worked in Portsmouth as a firefighter, Crew Manager and Watch Manager, and has recently moved in a role as a in the Fire Safety Department and is currently working her way through all of her fire safety certificates. And who knows what her next role may be…
Tor has been a member of FireInspire for many years and became the Chair in 2019. She is passionate about making life in the fire service as equal and comfortable as possible for women. She is also involved with the safeguarding group and sits on the domestic violence partnership board on behalf of Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service.
Tor joined the fire service after completing a degree in Criminology, Sociology and Social Anthropology, after doing various other completely unrelated job roles. She went travelling for a year after university and fell in love with South America after visiting the Galapagos and Machu Picchu.
