Chief Financial Officer Catherine Edgecombe

Catherine joined Hampshire County Council as a trainee accountant in 2008.  Alongside studying to become a Chartered Public Finance Accountant, she worked in different teams across the finance service.  Post qualification Catherine worked as an accountant supporting the Children’s Services department, before moving to work in the Integrated Business Centre.  On her return to the Finance Service, Catherine led the team supporting the police and fire services.  Catherine became the Deputy Chief Financial Officer in January 2021 and, following a period of transition, formally takes up the role of Chief Financial Officer from March 2022.

As part of her wider role, Catherine also has responsibility for the Operational Finance team at HCC, who provide advice and support about financial management to HCC and partners. Catherine is currently participating in HCC’s Transformative Leadership Programme.
