Redbridge local risks include a large area of mainly residential (including high-rise) and commercial properties. Western Docks, Southampton General Hospital, motorway and arterial road routes also fall within the boundaries of Redbridge's station ground.

Currently the station has two Operational Response appliances - a Rescue Pump (front line fire appliance) and an RSV (Response Support Vehicle) - a specialist response appliance with equipment for incidents including water/unstable ground and road traffic incidents involving HGV's & HazMat.

Recent incidentChildren rescued from Southampton flat by firefighters15/02/2018Two children were rescued from a first floor flat after a fire in a Southampton shop early this morning (February 15). Two adults and a dog were also led from the flat above the shop by firefighters in breathing apparatus.   5. Recent incidentMore than 30 firefighters attend Basingstoke restaurant blaze30/01/2018More than 30 firefighters were called to a fire in a Basingstoke restaurant. The blaze was on a second floor and believed to have started in the cooking extraction system. Seven engines from Basingstoke, Odiham, Hartley Wintney and Overton attended the fire at Festival Place along with an Aerial Ladder Platform (ALP) from Basingstoke and a Command Unit from Rushmoor. Five engines from Horndean, Petersfield, Waterlooville and Alresford attended with a water vehicle from Fareham. Two engines and support vehicles attended from Fareham and Waterlooville. The incident was in Pigeon House Lane, Purbrook. The vehicle was caught in approximately a metre of water.
