Local geographical wards include Redbridge, Millbrook, Shirley, Lordshill, Coxford plus the wider Southampton City.

Redbridge local risks include a large area of mainly residential (including high-rise) and commercial properties. Western Docks, Southampton General Hospital, motorway and arterial road routes also fall within the boundaries of Redbridge's station ground.

Currently the station has two Operational Response appliances - a Rescue Pump (front line fire appliance) and an RSV (Response Support Vehicle) - a specialist response appliance with equipment for incidents including water/unstable ground and road traffic incidents involving HGV's & HazMat.

Incidents of Interest

  1. Historical incidentCoach fire near Liphook put out by firefighters06/09/2018Four engines were called to attend a coach fire on a busy Hampshire A road. The crews included firefighters from Liphook, Grayshott, Surrey Fire and Rescue Service and a water carrier from Bordon. Four hose reel jets, two main jets and eight sets of breathing apparatus were used. Heavy traffic delays were caused by the incident on the A3 between Grayshott and Liphook. The stop message was at 17:48.

Historical incidentFirefighters tackle 80-tonne rubbish pile at Basingstoke recycling site 29/08/2018Firefighters have been tackling a blaze in a large pile of household rubbish at a recycling site just outside Basingstoke. The fire was discovered just after 10pm last night (29 August) in the tipping hall at the site near Chineham. The fire has involved around 80 tonnes of household waste and the crews have been using a digger, alongside other mechanical vehicles and equipment, to dig out the rubbish and extinguish it.
