Neighbours called 999 after fire was spotted on the balcony of the house’s third floor. More than 25 firefighters from Southsea, Cosham, Havant and Portchester were needed to bring the flames under control. The fire was contained to the flats bedroom on the second floor.   8. Recent incidentHeathland burned by Gosport wildfire 18/07/2018An area of heathland the size of a football pitch was scorched by fire near Gosport. Firefighters discovered two separate seats of fire on the patch of land at Browndown, so were forced to fight the flames from multiple locations. Thirty firefighters were needed to surround the fires. They used hoses and beaters to extinguish the flames.
