Recent incidentJoint partnership working in a race against time to save young deer from the sea15/07/2018We were called to reports of a deer trapped in the sea between Southsea Aquarium and the Southsea Castle. The Coastguard secured the shoreline and moved crowds back. One of our Animal Rescue Advisers was picked up from the beach by the RNLI and taken to where the deer was 200m off the shore. A passing boat tried to aid the rescue and lasooed the deer unfortunately drowning the 3 year old Roebuck. Recent incidentPilot and passenger walk away from light aircraft crash in Winchester14/07/2018Crews from Winchester, Bishops Waltham, Eastleigh and Redbridge responded to Morestead Road where a light aircraft had crash landed into trees and bushes on farm land. The pilot and passenger both men, self rescued before crews arrived at the scene. Both men were assessed by South Central Ambulance Service but didn't require hospital treatment. The incident was handed over to the aircraft owner and the stop was at 16:51.
  3. Recent incidentSixty-acre field fire tackled by firefighters10/07/2018More than 30 firefighters were called to a 60-acre field of standing crops and stubble alight near Winchester. Appliances from Winchester, Eastleigh and Service Headquarters were called at 13:11 with further Land Rovers and other support vehicles coming from Alresford, Basingstoke, Fareham, Andover and Lyndhurst.   4. Recent incidentPortsmouth pub evacuated after fire in flat above06/07/2018Customers in a Portsmouth pub were forced to put down their drinks after fire broke out in the flat above it. Crews discovered smoke in the building on the The Hard and found the fire in the first-floor flat. There was no-one in the property at the time and crews in breathing apparatus used hoses and jets to extinguish the flames within an hour. No-one was hurt and the cause of the fire was found to be accidental.
  5. Recent incidentFirefighters tackle Andover property blaze06/07/2018One person was taken to hospital suffering from smoke inhalation after a fire broke out at a house in King George Road. Firefighters from Andover, Dorset and Wiltshire, Sutton Scotney, Stockbridge and Winchester were called at 01:11. The ground floor, first floor and the roof were all fully involved in the blaze with minor fire spread to an adjoining property. Crews were called to Handsworth House, Somers Town at 01:44 and the fire was out in under an hour. Firefighters used six sets of breathing apparatus and three jets to tackle the fire which affected the 15th and 16th floors.   7. Recent incidentCigarette causes Southampton balcony fire01/07/2018Five engines, an aerial ladder platform and support vehicles attended a high-rise fire caused by a cigarette. The crews from St Mary's, Redbridge, Hightown and Eastleigh tackled the blaze on the balcony of the fifth floor flat in Sirocco block B, Ocean Village, Southampton.   9. Recent incidentHorse rescued from River Avon27/06/2018Two crews, from Fordingbridge and Brockenhurst, and an Animal Rescue vehicle, from Lyndhurst, rescued a horse stuck in a river. We were called, by the owner, to the incident near Riversmede Hale Road, in Woodgreen. The horse was removed from the water that was about four feet deep. The stop message was at 23:25.
