  • 1690 - the first manual fire engine at Alresford was kept in the tower of the Church
  • 1858 - a Horse drawn Fire Engine was purchased with 160ft of hose for £135.00 and was stored at the Swan Hotel
  • 1879 - Alresford Volunteer Fire Brigade was formed and it was headed by Captain Marx
  • 1881 - Town Trust built a fire station in Broad Street, this was in use until 1940 when the existing station was opened, and is still use today

We were called at 09:23 today to a fire involving eight flats. There are 10 engines and specialist vehicles including an aerial ladder platform. Everyone is safe and accounted for. Crews used 32 sets of breathing apparatus, four main jets, two hose reel jets and covering jets. The stop message was at 13:49.

Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service were called to a flat fire in Sullivan Close at 08:38 on Monday morning (January 21). Cottage destroyed by fire, despite efforts from Hampshire, Surrey and Berkshire crews19/01/2019Firefighters from Hampshire, Surrey and Berkshire were called to a house fire in a single floor domestic property. Unfortunately, the property was 100% destroyed by fire. One male was given immediate emergency care at the scene and taken to hospital by ambulance.
