Young Fire Fighters Association

The objective of the Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service’s Young Firefighters Association is the formation and maintenance of a uniformed Youth Organisation closely associated with the Fire Service within the Hampshire Area.

The aims of the Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service’s Young Firefighters Association are:

To recruit young people and allow them the opportunity of joining a uniformed Youth Organisation.
To assist in the member’s development, both mentally and physically while promoting self-discipline, social consciousness and community awareness.
To foster the spirit of adventure and develop qualities of leadership among the members.
To promote the Fire Service and to increase awareness of Fire Safety.

It is the principle of the YFA that membership should be offered to young people who might not normally have the opportunity to join a uniformed youth organisation.

It is therefore appropriate that application for membership is encouraged from members of ethnic minority communities and young people with physical disabilities or learning difficulties.

There are currently two branches of the YFA running within Hampshire. These are at Ringwood and Basingstoke.
