    Team Work

December 2005 saw the successful completion of Southampton Team 12 and Basingstoke Team 2.Special thanks are due to John Stallan, Jenna Shergold, Trevor Williams and Duncan Mackie for all their hard work, efforts and support during their secondment from Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service to the Prince’s Trust Team.

But the hard work doesn’t stop there and delivery partner manager Louise Judd is looking forward to a busy year ahead: “This year, we will be running 3 teams in Southampton starting 17 January, 30 May and 4 September 2006 and 2 teams in Basingstoke starting 6 February and 25 September. For these teams to be successful, we need your support! We are still seeking staff to be seconded as Team Leaders and Assistants, and we also need ideas for community projects or team challenges within our two main areas.

“These community projects could be schools, residential homes, scout groups – perhaps requiring extra pairs of hands to help with renovation. We aim to raise approximately £500 to spend on each project in hand. Perhaps for the team challenge, you might know of a group that could do with our help in volunteering or taking them out for a day trip somewhere. All ideas are welcome!”

X-Factor Finalists 4-Tune Support their Local Prince's Trust Team

X-Factor Finalists, 4-Tune,attended the end of course presentation for the Trust's Southampton Team on Thursday 6 April in Southampton Guildhall. The local band were on hand to present certificates and awards to the young people, marking the successful completion of their course. The presentation by 4-Tune was special for the band since they received a £4,000 business start-up loan from The Prince's Trust in July 2004. The four-piece band have worked full-time together for many years, trying to make their business dream a reality. With help from the youth charity, they used the loan to pay for photoshoots, choreography lessons and clothing for gigs.

Louise Judd, Prince's Trust Delivery Partner Manager said,

“I was really thrilled that 4-Tune were able to join us. It was a bit of a double celebration as The Prince's Trust is just about to celebrate its 30 year anniversary as well, so it made it all the more special. The young people who were completing their course and 4-Tune are both great examples to us all, of what can be achieved when you put your mind to it.”
