Making life safer in Hampshire for people over 65

The older person’s campaign

The risk of dying in a fire for people over 65 is over twice as high as the average for all ages and these risks increase dramatically if the person lives alone, smokes, drinks or has a physical and/or learning disability.

Our home safety team has been working to improve our home safety service for anyone that may be at a higher risk of dying in a fire. This service includes our new home safety literature, raising the awareness of older people in our community and celebrating the positive achievements and contributions that older people make to our society.
