The workshop will be presented by Rob Wilkinson of Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue Service and Keith Bellamy of the Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service urban search and rescue team who are the USAR national shoring leads and have been involved in training international rescue teams in advanced shoring techniques.

The day will comprise of the presentation of a number of realistic shoring scenarios with discussion and debate on the effectiveness of the proposed solutions.

There will be case studies of shoring incidents in the wider industrial field and we have invited speakers from industry to establish what levels of potential external advice and assistance are available to fire and rescue services.

We are hoping that there will be the opportunity to test the effectiveness of examples of shoring solutions under load or at least witness the results of tests carried out.
