Specialist Response Week

Who should attend? This session is primarily for personnel who are trained and competent in rope rescue and will be expected to carry out rope rescue as part of their role.
PPE requirement: Delegates will need to provide PPE suitable for the rope rescue environment which must include suitable footwear, head and hand protection.
This day will be facilitated by Phil Crook of Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service (HFRS) who has a long history of involvement with the development of rope rescue within the Fire and Rescue Service at a national level.
This is an opportunity to practically trial equipment from some of the leading manufacturers of rope rescue equipment so due to the nature of the day delegate numbers will be limited to 80.
Four of the major rope equipment suppliers will be attending and supplying kit which can be trialled by the delegates and also providing rope equipment which will be tested by drop testing from the test rig at the HFRS site.
There will be a presentation on work which is ongoing with medical professionals which aims to secure advanced medical assistance at incidents involving rope rescue by the use of rope trained paramedics and doctors.
