Barnie - one of the rescue dogs

Hi, I'm Barnie and I'm an 11 month old, English Springer Spaniel.

I'm a trainee search and rescue dog and am currently being taught how to help emergency crews search for people trapped under collapsed buildings.

HFRS Watch Manager Willie Baker is my trainer and says this about me:

"Once Barnie has completed his training he will be able to respond to emergency incidents across the UK to help rescuers at the scene quickly locate trapped people. His specialist training will help save lives when every second counts. He will also be able to assist the Police in tracing lost or missing people.”

Which is good. I enjoy my job very much as I get to sniff all day long, which is fab!

In my spare time I like to roll around in grass, sniff hello to other dogs and bark at vacuum cleaners. I also enjoy reading books. My favourite authors are Clive Barker and Virginia Woolf.

Here's some more pictures of me looking cute

Keep coming back to my Kennel as I might have more pictures of me sniffing things soon. Gotta go now, there's some barking to be done.

Byee!
