An overview

The areas of responsibility that fall to the Strategic Projects and Specialist Response (SP and SR) Directorate are those that are considered to be specialist in nature and the personnel that work within the Directorate have a range of knowledge, skills and experience to meet these specific requirements.

The Directorate works closely with and in support of the other three Directorates (Service Delivery, Corporate Services and Training and Human Resources) in delivering the Fire and Rescue Service Plan 2008 - 2011 to achieve our Corporate aims.

Strategic projects

Managing and delivering a range of identified strategic projects that result from our Fire and Rescue Service Plan.

Specialist response teams

Provision and maintenance of a number of specialist response teams with an enhanced range of equipment, skills and knowledge to deal with unusual and complex incidents.

Fleet management and maintenance

Provision of a cost-effective and appropriate fleet. The Fleet Management team is responsible for the entire Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service vehicle fleet. Maintenance is provided by workshops at our purpose-built fleet maintenance facility.
