The United Kingdom Rescue Organisation (UKRO) is now taking bookings from Fire and Rescue Services wishing to take part in this year’s prestigious challenge – Hampshire 2010.

Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service has been selected to host this year’s prestigious United Kingdom Rescue Organisation Challenge running from September 30 to October 2.
The United Kingdom Rescue Organisation (UKRO) was formed in 2002 to address the increasing number, and range, of incidents attended by Fire and Rescue Services.
UKRO – a fast moving, dynamic organisation – is determined to push vehicle extrication to its professional pinnacle, to drive the national agenda on road death reduction, and to showcase other rescue disciplines including trauma, rope rescue and urban search and rescue.
Every year it runs its annual Rescue Challenge – the largest of its kind in the world with up to 50 teams of professional firefighters competing against one another in the disciplines of Vehicle Extrication, Rope Rescue and Trauma Management. View the short promotional video below:
Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service was selected to host this year’s high profile event and branded the challenge “Hampshire 2010” to celebrate the county’s involvement. The event will be held at Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service’s extensive headquarters in Eastleigh over three days.
The national Rescue Challenges always attract local, national and international interest with teams competing from as far afield as Germany and Spain.
