Equality & Diversity
...corporate equality plan
The Corporate Equality Plan (CEP) supports our aim to develop a workforce that is ready and able to understand and serve the needs of our communities. It replaces all of our three equality schemes for race, disability and gender and incorporates our provisions for all other equality strands - sexual orientation, religion or belief, age and transgender.
Our vision is to make life safer. To achieve this we need to reduce risk in all our communities and we are committed to providing services which are tailored to specific needs. As a public body we aim to have a workforce that better represents the communities we serve. Throughout Hampshire we have communities with a variety of needs and hopes. To improve our service to all, to communicate effectively, and to reduce risk, we need to be accessible and open to all. Part of achieving this is to make sure that our workforce reflects that same range of people and is always ready to respond to others professionally and with respect and understanding.
The CEP is a realistic action plan for each and every member of the Service to follow, to turn words into actions. We hope this will not only help to mainstream operational diversity but will give a wider understanding to every member of staff. Delivering equality and diversity is something we can all do and the CEP will help to show you how you and your teams can make the difference.
