Individual Responsibilities and Rights

The Act also gives you several other rights, which we respect, to:

Ask HFRS if it holds personal information about you in a relevant filing system;
and
View or be given a copy of the information; and
Be given details about the purposes for which HFRS uses the information and of other organisations or persons to whom it is disclosed.
Ask HFRS not to use personal information about you:
for direct marketing; or
where it is likely to cause unwarranted substantial damage or distress; or
to make decisions, which significantly affect you, based solely on the automatic processing of the data.
Ask for incorrect data to be corrected; and
Possibly be compensated for damage or distress should these be caused by our failure to comply with certain requirements of the Act.
