Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service Plan 2011 to 2014

Welcome

Chair of Hampshire Fire and Rescue Fire Authority Royston Smith and Chief Officer of Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service John Bonney

There is no doubt that we will face financial challenges over the next three years. So, this year our plan sets out how we intend to use our resources in more effective and efficient ways to continue to reduce risks in our communities while building on our high levels of service.

We are pleased to introduce new objectives that we believe show our new approach to improving our services. We have questioned some of our more traditional ways of responding to incidents to develop objectives that will provide an even better use of our professional staff and vehicles depending on the risk and type of incident.

And, in order to invest in the future, we have also looked at the opportunities we have to work with partners to get more use out of some of our fire stations, while also investing in our buildings to make them more energy efficient in the future.

We are proud to report many achievements and areas of high performance from across the county in this plan. Despite the financial challenges we face, we will continue to provide the high-quality and professional service people have come to expect from us as one of the top-performing fire and rescue services in the country.
